A Triple Bogey To Like
Is golf aging? It’s a question that’s come up on twitter and golf blogs more of late, Ryan Ballangee at WaggleRoom had a good series of posts on the need for an infusion of youth into the game. We called it out in some of our earliest posts as well.
Even if you don’t believe there’s an aging problem in golf, almost any business covets the youth market, so bringing more future players to the game should only be viewed as a positive. Enter Triple Bogey.
Triple Bogey brings a fresh perspective to golf apparel. It’s part hip hop, part skate rat and part anarchist. All in all – it’s refreshing and one of the more innovative takes we’ve seen in trying to draw in a more youthful and diverse demographic into the game.
Their apparel isn’t about moisture wicking and high performance, and you won’t read about their innovative fiber technology in their product description. It’s about attitude and fun.
The HaterMade shirt, and the iconic shot of a golfer breaking a club over his knee are my personal favs. It’s not for everyone, but it is different, irreverent and cool. Check out their blog (linked above) - which is also a unique approach. Rarely a long rant there, instead they employ a great use of imagery and video to convey their brand.
We wish there were more ‘out there’ approaches to golf apparel and golf in general and SALUTE “33″ for taking a chance.

Awesome. I can see stodgy country clubs all over the country scrambling to make sure nothing in this catalog conforms to their lily-white dress codes. Golf really does need a healthy dose of sand kicked all over the power suits, pearls and no-saddle-pockets image it’s developed. I’m personally too old to be supporting these guys with my dollars but I hope nothing but the best for their venture.
Ha! Yes I’m sure that there could be a by-law created for the CC’s about ‘graphic print golf shirts’.
I have a feeling these guys wouldn’t mind that one bit.
