Bad ad, bad ad…you’re a very bad ad

February 5, 2010 / Posted in Humor/Satire, Marketing/Advertising, Videos

The Super Bowl is just a short time away now (yeeehawww) and yet the ads have already begun to air.

Well, the banned ads anyway.  One of course makes the obligatory white-dudes-that-play-golf-have-their-head’s-up-their-rears reference.

According to a post at mediabistro, KGB didn’t create the ad expecting it to be booted.  What do you think?  Offensive?  Funny?  Both?

As a side, is the blonde in the video Heather from Real Women Golf or just her doppelganger?

John Daly has quit the PGA tour…for now.  Or not.  Maybe. In a rapid fire series of tweets about his decision to (apparently) quit further attempts to gain some long-term status on the PGA tour, Daly indicated…and then didn’t…and then sort of did, but didn’t…that he was done. At the very least, Daly has...

We really try to avoid re-blogging someone else’s post.  It’s a tired and uncreative behavior that is all too common in the blogging world.    That said, sometimes there are things we see that we want to try and help get more visibility for (you know with our millions of readers) and the boys at...

We’ve purposefully refrained of late from posting about Tiger because it’s not as though there’s a shortage of people writing, broadcasting and blogging about El Tigre. But sometimes a little gem comes out and it’s hard to ignore.  Enter John Mayer. Oh sure, he can maybe be a self-important jackass. ...

Let me tell you a little bit about my friend Eli. He’s not a particularly handsome man, but he can hit a golf ball very well. And he has a certain, shall we say je na sais quoi. He’s also one of my favorite people to have in a foursome – ever. ...

If you’re a fan of golf you probably have heard of Charlie Sifford.  But today, for any of our non-golfing readers (hi Mom!), or for any who agree with us that his story is one that probably can’t be overtold, we’re posting a couple of clips that share a little bit about this American pioneer. First,...

January 16, 2010 / Posted in Featured, The Majors, U.S. Open

We’ve had a post-holiday hangover.  Family, friends, travel, presents, food, drink = good times. Too good maybe?  We’ve neglected our beloved blog.  If it were a kid, Child Services would have taken it away in the middle of the night long ago. But we have a good reason for being...
