What’s in a name? – The 2009 U.S. Open

June 21, 2009 / Posted in Humor/Satire, The Majors, U.S. Open

Golf loves to name big events with something a little extra, for example:

The War on the Shore

The Battle at Brookline

The Massacre at Winged Foot.

So what would you dub this year’s U.S. Open at Bethpage Black?

Sure, it’s far from over (don’t remind us), and there could be amazing moments to come.  But we’ve taken a run at a few names that we think could stick.

The Bath at Bethpage

The Week of the Squeegee

The Delay at JFK (ok we know it’s not at JFK but it’s all about alliteration people)

The Bounty-ful Open

The Week We Quit Caring

Got a better one?  Share in comments or hit us up on twitter.  Until then, we’re going to play golf instead of being forced to watch watching more Johnny Miller.
