Holiday hangover

January 16, 2010 / Posted in Featured, The Majors, U.S. Open

We’ve had a post-holiday hangover.  Family, friends, travel, presents, food, drink = good times.

Too good maybe?  We’ve neglected our beloved blog.  If it were a kid, Child Services would have taken it away in the middle of the night long ago.

But we have a good reason for being absent in addition to those mentioned above.  We’ve golfed.  I know this isn’t a big deal to any of you who are in warmer climates, you d-bags, but here in the gorgeous Pacific Northwest this time of year can be a tad sketchy for weather.  So when we can steal a day like we did recently at Chambers Bay, it’s a thing of beauty.

Here are a few clips from our round at the site of the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship and the 2015 U.S. Open.

Some of us who aren’t golfing yet, might consider those who post videos of themselves golfing to be d-bags extremely lucky.

I have to play there someday. It’s going on my bucket list.

You have a point…though being a native midwesterner I know you have other things to help take the edge off winter like ice fishing and…yeah, nevermind, you win.

I live in the tropics, meaning we can play all year round. However, it’s always hot and very humid, so I sometimes miss playing in some colder weather. Beautiful course by the way!

Oh and KoKo I would highly recommend to anyone a Pacific NW swing on their bucket list. Maybe you’ve been there, but Bandon Dunes (Pacific and Bandon Trails) are all must do’s. But if you add Chambers and some WA, Central Oregon and Idaho courses it’s an exceptional area. For 5 months of the year anyway :) .

Hmmm – and to think I was worried about your absence (and thought about sending flowers to the clinic). Did you spare one eensie-teensie thought for us in the Arctic chill?! Nope!
