I wish I would have looked at your tips before today's outing in muddy, albeit sunny conditions. I took too much divot with my pitches, chunked my chips, and left my putts woefully short. I was able to laugh about it and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Played a round on frozen ground a few weeks ago, and would like to pass along a tip I got elsewhere--use softer golf balls! In the warmer weather, I use an ~85 compression ball (Pinnacle Platinum Distance), but in the winter I use a ~75 compression ball (Noodle+). I scuff the crap out of the Noodles, but at least it doesn't feel like Fred Flintstone golf in Bedrock!

Love my long underwear and Under Armour (2 or 3 words). Layers are key. Corduroy pants are essential. I also own a pair of Target boys snow pants when my wind/rain pants aren't enough. Hmmm let's see. Gloves, lots of gloves. Winter gloves, rain gloves, a regular glove for each hand. Double up on the socks. Tube socks are great. They control draft--especially if you are not wearing long underwear. Headgear is a must too.

But I don't have much experience playing in bad weather.

I am a total wimp when it comes to playing in the cold or rain, so I don't even want to compare my winters to yours. However, I have found that we need layers in even Florida winters (due to thin blood). I suggest some of the stuff from Patagonia. They have base layers in the different thicknesses for cold temps. I actually use a thick Patagonia baselayers as a thin jackets/sweaters for cool Florida mornings.

Yes, it is sad, but I will wear a ski cap when it gets below 50 degrees....
